Social Media and Artificial Intelligence Specialist
Oliver is our youngster and "influencer" in the team. He's an innovative expert for all common social media channels as well as all aspects of online communication and content management. His digital affinity and versatility enable him to select the most suitable and target audience-appropriate approach on each e-platform. He is as comfortable on Instagram or YouTube as he is on TikTok, Pinterest or Facebook. A key part of his work with us is also recognizing and utilizing new trends to fully exploit the viral potential of our PR and promotional campaigns. Successfully building community relationships on social media is of central importance to him. Oliver is a sporty adventurer who loves traveling. He climbs the highest mountains and no peak is too high for him.
Jörg Borse
Arts, Culture and Corporate Communications Specialist
Jörg has finished his Masters in Arts and Media Science. During his studies he founded the first german-wide university TV acting as presenter, editor and interviewer. He has been working with several tourism-related Public Relations Agencies such as AKB and NEWS PLUS working for Sydney, Maharashtra, Fiji , Sri Lanka and Israel. He also has been managing Corporate Communications and Marketing for major Frankfurt-based banking institutes like Deutsche Bank and KfW. Jörg is our Crisis Management expert. In 1999/2000 he was responsible for all Media and Public Relations activities of KfW for the EXPO 2000 in Hannover, Germany. As travel editor, he also contributes travel stories to various regional newspapers.
Kai Ostermann
Managing Director, Europe
Kai is an accomplished marketing and communications professional with 30 years in the Travel & Tourism industry representing companies such as Lufthansa, Iberia Airlines, Aerolineas Argentinas, the Irish Tourist Board, and Walt Disney Parks & Resorts (Europe and the Americas) where he helped drive media and promotional coverage of Walt Disney World’s 25th Anniversary, the grand opening of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the global Millennium celebration.Following his time with Disney, Kai joined News Plus Comms as Managing Director of Europe, where he successfully managed press and publicity for destinations such as Australia, Hawaii, Texas, Kenya, India and the Seychelles. In 2009, Kai launched his own company – the representations agency Global Spot focusing on tourism and travel industry solutions in Europe. He has represented Tourism and Events Queensland as Director Europe for the Australian Sunshine State with sales, marketing and public relations activity across Europe (incl. the Nordic region) for which he won the 2009 Best Marketing Campaign Award for the “Best Job In The World” viral promotion in Germany.
Kai is recognized as a passionate, driven and enthusiastic go-getter. Equally comfortable when speaking German, English or Spanish, he has proven himself to be a strategic asset on multiple continents and is seen as a positive influence on those around him.
Peter Mierzwiak
Media & Public Relations Director
Originally trained and operating as a travel agent, Peter started his media career as editor of the German weekly travel industry trade magazine Touristik Aktuell. He specialized in the subjects of destinations and aviation. After four years as a journalist, Peter played an instrumental role in establishing the new communications agency News Plus Comms in 2004. As Director of Public Relations he managed a team of PR professionals responsible for numerous airlines and destinations including New York City, Las Vegas, Sri Lanka, Abu Dhabi and Mauritius.
In 2009, he was appointed as General Manager at Global Spot representing all press and publicity as well as social media activities across the European markets for various Australian Tourism Organizations such as Tourism & Events Queensland, Tourism Tropical North Queensland, Tourism Whitsundays and Mackay Tourism.
Well respected within the industry, Peter is known for his strong work ethic and interpersonal skills. He is seen as an excellent storyteller who is able to leverage contacts within his vast media network as needed.
Annette Kalthoff
Marketing & Trade Relations Director
Annette launched her travel and tourism career with the German Tourist Board in Paris, France in 2004. Beginning in 2005 and following her Parisienne experience, she worked for Sylt Marketing on the German holiday island of Sylt as their Destination Marketing Manager and expert in the MICE sector.
In 2007, Annette became the Market Development Manager for Queensland in Europe with oversite of France, Italy, Benelux and Scandinavia. While at Global Spot, Annette is instrumental in expanding the pan-European visitor numbers and expenditure to the Australian Sunshine State.
Full of positive energy, Annette is a highly organized and analytical leader who understands the bigger picture of effective destination management and product development. She is fully conversational in German, English, and French and is integral to the success of the Global Spot team.
